Florence Akello

Florence lives in a rented room in Njru with her 3 children.  Her husband died in a motorcycle accident.    She used to work for a family doing housework such as cleaning the house, washing clothes etc., but the employer went back to India two years ago. She has tried selling charcoal, groceries and some greens.  It is hard because of her health.   She is originally from Gulu District  She moved in 1989 because of the war. She is alone with no other close family members.   She worries about her children’s futures.  She has used her entire savings.  She makes beads and has 93 necklaces and wants to sell them. She would like to start her own business which is not so physically taxing.
