Winnie Atim University Sponsorship Winnie lives at home in a rented house in the Njeru area near Jinja, with her mother, father and 4 siblings. Her mother and siblings moved here in 1986 from Lacor in Gulu district because of the war. Winnie has been at home the past 3 years because she has no money for fees to attend the university. Winnie’s father is retired with no benefits. Her mother resells greens in the market for a small profit Monday through Saturday. Winnie was an above average student when she was in secondary school. Art was her favorite subject. She would like to attend Nkumba University in Kampala and study art and design so that one day she could teach it. Currently, she helps her family by cooking, cleaning, making bead necklaces and selling in the market. She also likes to sing.
