Susan Atim Age 17 Seconday 3 (Day) Susan lives at her home in Jinja with her father, stepmother and two stepsisters. In order to attend school she must pay her own school fees. So, she has been working in a factory making bread one year, and then going to school the next year. This is why she is 17 and only in S3. In addition, her stepmother and stepsisters mistreat her so she is hoping that she might be able to go to boarding school at her same day school which also has a boarding section. Her father works, but is sick now. She must get up at 5am to help with household chores before going to school. She washes dishes, prepares breakfast and does other cooking, mops the house and washes clothes. She believes that boarding school and being able to attend every year would allow her to concentrate more on her studies. She would like to study to eventually become a teacher or nurse.
