Okello Bosco
Okello Bosco lives with his aunt and uncle, their 7 children
and his sister in 2 rooms provided by the government in the Jinja area.
His uncle works in the local prison and he attends school
in the prison barracks.
His aunt buys fish at the river and resells them to earn
a small income. Okello Bosco’s family is originally from Acet village in the Gulu district of northern Uganda.
They
came here about 18 years ago when his father was
killed by the rebels and their house was burned.
Okello Bosco is an above average student who was 10th
out of 40 students in his class. English is his favorite subject. He likes to play
soccer. He helps
the family by digging, washing clothes and sweeping the compound.
His aunt
would like to start a new business of grinding maize and selling posho
if she could obtain the capital to do this.
