Adeno Christine Age 8 Primary 4 Adeno lives with her mother and father, five siblings and one niece in a rented room in the Danida area of Jinja. The family is originally from Patong village in Pader district of northern Uganda but has lived in Jinja the past seven years because of the war. Her mother makes beads, and her father earns a small income by collecting scrap metal and selling to a steel fabricating company. Two children should be in primary school but are not due to no school fees. Some of the other children occasionally get sent home due to no school fees. Adeno is an above average student who was 11th out of 100 students. She likes all subjects in school. She helps the family by cooking, washing clothes and helping with the younger children.
