Achoyo Samin Achoyo lives with her grandmother who provides a home for her and six other of her grandchildren. Achoyo is the 3rd oldest of the 7 grandchildren. Her grandmother is a widow from Tororo who husband was originally from the Kitgum area. In addition, to being a subsistence farmer, the grandmother also earns a small income by selling small moonfish. Achoyo likes studying and reading. She helps her grandmother with housework and by helping dig in a plot where they grow some food for the family to eat such as beans, maize, ground nuts and matooke.
